Melanie has created colourful and beautiful artworks for 30 years, beginning her career in the decorative arts and drawn to mosaic after seeing Alhambra displays in Morocco as well as Gaudi’s masterpieces in Barcelona. The artist works with a range of stunning yet robust materials, giving her pieces longevity. Melanie has developed her own style starting with a bespoke starting design, followed by the laying of tesserae in colourful, beautiful materials. She loves to lift people’s spirits with her vibrant work, which attracts people from around the UK and overseas on art trails, walls, seating and free standing pieces set into one of a kind frames. Commissions include the TV favourite’Love Your Garden’ for a lovely local family. Melanie has been selected to create commissions for large scale public art mosaics in the UK, as well as representing the UK in both India and Chile working alongside international artists.
