Praveen Karebasannanavar Ramachandrappa

Praveen learnt the art of painting from artist-cum-father R S Karebasannanavar and has been
practising since childhood. He is also full-time PhD scholar at The Open University based in Milton
Keynes, Buckinghamshire hailing from Bangalore, India.
Most of his paintings are watercolor, acrylic, mixed media and rarely oil paintings inspired from
landscape, history and architecture. Some of his works are metaphorical and illustrative where he tries
to explore the nonverbal power of communication to convey his intention and encourages the
audience to stay in an imagination realm. He is a member and exhibition secretary of Milton Keynes
Society of Artists. Outside his research hours, he enjoys creating the plein air and studio paintings for
himself and commissioned ones.
He received first place in national level painting competition held at IISc – Bangalore, India 2010. He
has participated and won 71 prizes in state, district and zone level competitions and exhibitions in
India. He recently exhibited three of his paintings at West Studios – Chesterfield and participated and
exhibited artworks in plein air event Paint out Norfolk in 2020 and 2021.
His lockdown painting titled SANATIVE was selected and featured in 2020 open stage online gallery of
UK’s leading arts school – Bristol Old Victoria Theatre.
