Encouragement of art in buckinghamshire

Jackie Henderson

Jackie has (mostly) retired from teaching and paints daily.

Painting in oils outdoors, en plein air, she creates small, honest and pure works depicting the changing effects of light on local landscape. These works might inform potential studio paintings. A walk with a scribble or quick pastel can often produce the more abstract works. Living right beside the canal, and close to 4 reservoirs, much inspiration is found in watery locations.
Jackie believes that all art begins in the Life Room. A place of practice for new or tried and tested methods, a place for experimentation where the resilience of failure creates the building blocks of an artist and their self belief.
