Although I have always enjoyed the creative side of life, I have not had any training in art and pursued a more scientific career. Now that I am retired I am taking great pleasure in being able to paint and develop as an artist. I particularly love to see transparency and vibrant colours in paintings and my work reflects this in my landscapes and seascapes. More recently these have veered towards the semi-abstract and collage, which I find has freed up my use of colour. Although I usually work with oil or acrylic paint, I also use acrylic inks to accentuate this sense of brightness in a painting.
I am a member of NAPA and I participate in Bucks Art Weeks and other local exhibitions; and have exhibited regularly in a gallery in Leamington and in Fitch and Fellows in Thame.
