I paint coastal scenes and landscapes in acrylics. I love to paint in the open air on my old French Easel, but for larger work I paint in the studio from sketches.
The interaction of light on water, in different weather conditions and at different times of the day, holds a particular fascination for me. Here in Bucks I paint scenes of the Chilterns and the Thames Valley with our beautiful woodland and river scenery.
I have had a cottage (and second studio) on the Isles of Scilly for over twenty years which has provided me with an endless source of fantastic coastal scenery. I also go to the Greek islands every year to paint – the quality of the light there is amazing!
I was Chairman of the Bucks Art Society from 2003 to 2005.
